There are so many techniques and formulas out there to help you achieve your best, your dreams, your goals. The work, as it seems, must be done within you. Improving yourself, becoming more aware, taking care of you is the place to start. You, you, and you. Some people understand the message, others misinterpret it. The ones that care only about them without considering others, act selflessly instead. Following your dreams, doing what you want and not letting other people have a negative effect in your life are the right things to do but when our dreams and desires affect negatively others, we have taken the idea of self-improvement the wrong way.

Many, in the pursuit of their dreams and goals, to prove themselves, have carelessly affected others in a negative way. They go from self-aware to self-absorbed. Nobody matters more than them. There is nothing wrong with that, until you are looking for your own benefit without considering how the consequences will affect others.

People help people. There is no way around it. You must count with others. It is very important to determine how we feel about the decisions we take that might affect others. We could be thinking something is beneficial, but we can only be sure when we take the time to reflect about the situation. We must check the way we feel. It is the only way to know if what we are doing is right. We may think we know; but we must feel it. Then we know it. It all goes back to us. Thinking about others makes us think about ourselves. And thinking about ourselves, helps us become aware and draw our attention to achieve anything we focus on. Tada!

Thinking about you only, makes you so self-absorbed that you can hardly see others. It is like putting some glasses that only reflect to yourself. You cannot see out, only in. Therefore, you are blinded. Focusing on others only has the same effect. You can only see outside and think about others but since your decisions are based on what is outside, you never get in contact with yourself to verify if what you see is true. Either way, no positive results are seen.

By helping others, we help ourselves. Only helping others, we get to check with ourselves how we are feeling, thinking, and behaving. Becoming more aware is paying attention to all these little things. Reflecting and recognizing them is getting to know ourselves a little better. If we were all like that, if we all think alike, then things will be much better for ourselves, for others, and for the world. Caring is a very human thing. It is in our nature. Verifying ourselves in others, seeing ourselves in others, caring for others, that is human! And that is all we are. At least in this experience!
